LuxConnect has been active for 20 years in delivering best-in-class Data Center and fiber connectivity services. Beside those core activities, LuxConnect also owns LuxProvide which operates the Luxembourg High Performance Computer, and is a majority shareholder of Clarence, the company operating the first disconnected sovereign cloud in Europe in partnership with Proximus Luxembourg.
As Clarence has been operational for 18 months and is increasing its market presence and recognition, significant growth in the customers portfolio of the company has been experienced and is expected to accelerate.
In such context, LuxConnect is seeking a Senior Cloud System Architect to work closely with the Managing Director of Clarence to address new business opportunities associated with potential clients or with more complex innovative projects identified by Clarence and by LuxConnect.
Job description
As Senior Cloud System Architect, your overall task will be to work closely with the Managing Director of Clarence to convert such new business opportunities into actual contracts. To allow such positive conversion, you will exploit your expertise and experience in cloud-based systems to combine your deep engineering know-how with a proactive sense of business, customer-centricity and innovation.
Main tasks
- Ensuring efficient handling of clients opportunities identified by Clarence or LuxConnect, from system, architecture, services and commercial standpoints
- Developing new projects leveraging the key differentiators of Clarence on the European public and commercial sectors
- Managing the relationships with the key partners of Clarence in those projects to allow for successful execution
- Advising on the evolution of Clarence core technologies, as well as on new initiatives where Clarence could be positively valued, including in particular in space and defense sectors
- Liaising with the main suppliers of Clarence, and checking actual delivery content & effectiveness whenever applicable, in the best interest of Clarence
- Actively cooperating with the engineering, product and operations teams of Proximus Luxembourg to ensure successful and accurate Clarence business and services performance
- Leading the design of innovative cloud-centric hybrid sovereign solutions (including ground and space) with focus on performance, compliance, resilience and added value
- Driving system-level trade-offs and optimization across the full service value chain which would be beneficial to Clarence business
- Overseeing end-to-end integration, validation, and deployment of Clarence environments up to successful entry in operations
- Working closely with the Managing Director of Clarence on all business and tactical topics
- Supporting LuxConnect executive management as required, as well as LuxConnect teams.
Your Profile
- Master or PhD in Engineering in Computer Sciences, Cloud, Telecommunications
- Proven expertise as Senior System Architect encompassing several of those disciplines
- Strong business and customer-centricity acumen
- At least 10 years of experience in developing new businesses in technical/engineering services, in particular within start-up/scale-up corporate structures
- Strong technical leadership, project leadership, and ability to create/motivate teams
- Solid experience in managing external partners to create value for the company, including challenging those partners whenever needed
- Ability to translate complex system architectures into scalable service offerings and customer-centric solutions
- Strong expertise in designing end-to-end cloud-centric architectures, including hybrid cloud environments (sovereign cloud, edge, multi-cloud)
- Deep understanding of integrating telecom and space systems into cloud-native platforms
- Experience in building secure, compliant, and resilient systems for mission-critical environments
- Fluent in English. Other languages are assets.
