LuxConnect is proud to announce that we have officially joined the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact (CNDCP), the leading industry initiative uniting more than 100 Data Center operators and trade associations across Europe. By becoming a signatory, we reaffirm our long-standing commitment to sustainability and to supporting the European Green Deal’s ambition of making Europe climate neutral by 2050.
The Pact sets ambitious but clear goals to ensure that Data Centers play a positive role in Europe’s green transition. Members pledge to:
- Improve energy efficiency, with new facilities in cool climates reaching a PUE of 1.3 by 2025, and all existing Data Centers meeting this by 2030.
- Transition to 100% clean energy by 2030, with an intermediate goal of 75% renewable or carbon-free energy by 2025.
- Achieve high standards for water conservation with strict WUE thresholds.
- Strengthen the circular economy through reuse, repair, and recycling of IT equipment.
- Explore opportunities to contribute to circular energy systems, such as heat recovery.
At LuxConnect, these commitments are fully aligned with our values and current performance. Our latest KPIs already demonstrate leadership in sustainability:
- PUE: 1.35 (already very close to the Pact’s 2030 target)
- WUE: 0.206 l/kWh (well below the Pact’s maximum threshold)
- CUE: 0.034 kg CO₂e/kWh
- Heat recovery project under consideration in Bettembourg
Joining the Pact was therefore a natural step for LuxConnect, as sustainability is part of our DNA. Our membership has been officially confirmed following review and approval by the CNDCP Board.
As a trusted infrastructure provider, we want to lead by example and show that sustainable digital infrastructure is not only possible but necessary. We encourage all industry stakeholders to follow this path and contribute together to a greener, climate-neutral Europe.
