DC1.3 installation powering our future office building is now completed

The installation providing energy from Data Center DC1.3 to LuxConnect’s future office building is now completed. A new transformer, cold and heat exchangers and piping have recently been installed in the Data Center.

This installation is a key element of the innovative energy concept designed for the new office building. While construction of the office building is still ongoing, the completion of this installation represents the first operational step in the implementation of this sustainable infrastructure.

Turning Data Center energy into a valuable resource

The servers installed inside the Data Centers naturally generate heat during their operation. Rather than letting this energy go to waste, LuxConnect has designed a system that recovers excess heat from DC1.3.

Through the newly built infrastructure, this recovered energy will be redistributed to the future administrative building. The system will allow the building to be heated and cooled using energy recovered directly from the Data Center, creating a highly efficient and circular approach to energy management.

In addition to thermal energy, the installation will also serve as the central point for supplying electricity to the building, integrating the different energy flows into a single optimized infrastructure.

A concrete step toward greater energy efficiency

This concept was presented during the foundation stone ceremony of LuxConnect’s future administrative building, where the company presented its ambition to develop a modern workplace aligned with its sustainability commitments.

As highlighted at that time, this innovative energy concept will enable a reduction of more than 10% in primary energy consumption. This performance will be achieved through the valorization of waste heat and the integration of renewable electricity produced on site thanks to photovoltaic panels installed on the roof and façade.

Building sustainable digital infrastructure

With the completion of this milestone, LuxConnect is demonstrating how Data Center infrastructure can contribute to broader sustainability objectives by integrating energy recovery and smart energy distribution into its ecosystem.

LuxConnect will continue to share updates as the project progresses toward the completion of the new building.
