LuxConnect lays the foundation stone for its new administrative headquarters in the presence of Minister Lex Delles and Mayor Jean Marie Jans

LuxConnect celebrated the laying of the foundation stone of its new administrative building, marking a major milestone in the company’s development strategy. The ceremony took place in the presence of Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, whose ministry owns the land on which the project will be built, as well as Jean Marie Jans, Mayor of Bettembourg, representing the municipality where the project is located.

Launched in 2022 in response to the rapid growth of LuxConnect’s workforce, the project aims to bring together all of the company’s subsidiaries under one roof. “What initially began as a simple observation has evolved into a concrete and forward-looking project for LuxConnect,” said Paul Konsbruck, CEO of LuxConnect. “This new headquarters is designed to support our growth while providing our teams with an inspiring and sustainable working environment.”

The future building will take the form of a four levels structure (R+4) with a garden level, representing approximately 5,000 m² of gross floor area. Provisional completion is scheduled for the end of 2027. It will accommodate up to 250 workstations, as well as 200 m² of meeting rooms on the ground floor. Beyond its operational function, the building has been designed as a place for well-being and collaboration, integrating welcoming shared spaces and outdoor terraces.

From an architectural perspective, the project combines a concrete core with a timber structure and a façade made of prefabricated wooden panels. The use of bio-based and natural materials reflects LuxConnect’s commitment to sustainability, while actively contributing to employee comfort and well-being.

In his address, Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, emphasized the importance of the project: “With this new administrative headquarters, LuxConnect confirms its strategic role at the heart of Luxembourg’s data economy. At a time when artificial intelligence relies more than ever on the ability to process and secure growing volumes of data, having high-performance and trusted infrastructures is a decisive competitive advantage. Luxembourg can rely on strong players such as LuxConnect to provide businesses with a reliable, secure and innovative environment. I also applaud the building’s innovative energy concept, which makes use of heat generated by the data center and integrates renewable energy, clearly illustrating the potential complementarity between the digital transition and the energy transition.”

Jean Marie Jans, Mayor of Bettembourg, also welcomed LuxConnect’s continued presence and development within the municipality: “With LuxConnect, the municipality of Bettembourg hosts on its territory a key national player of which it is proud and which it fully supports. It is also a service provider for the municipality, which is one of its clients, and even a partner with whom we have developed synergies, for example in the use of heat and in the development of communication networks.”

From an energy perspective, the building will rely on an innovative concept. Photovoltaic panels will be installed both on the roof and on the south-facing façade. In addition, the building will be powered, heated and cooled using energy recovered from LuxConnect’s data center, enabling a reduction of more than 10% in primary energy consumption through the recovery of waste heat and the on-site production of renewable electricity. LuxConnect has also launched a full life-cycle carbon analysis of construction materials, with the objective of obtaining the “NEUTRAL” Carbon Footprint New Construction label, corresponding to the full offsetting of residual emissions in order to achieve a net-zero carbon balance.

To meet the site’s growing needs, the construction of a three-level above-ground car park offering 225 spaces, including 36 equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, will begin in 2026 on the location of the current parking area.

Concluding the ceremony, Paul Konsbruck highlighted the broader significance of the project: “This first stone marks far more than the start of a construction project. It reflects our long-term commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development of Luxembourg’s digital infrastructure – for our teams today and for the country’s digital future.”
