Over the years, LuxConnect has built its expertise around two core business lines: Data Hosting and Dark Fiber deployment. Today, the company has evolved far beyond its original role as an infrastructure operator to become a specialized end-to-end integrator, supporting customers in planning and designing their infrastructure projects from start to finish. This transformation has been driven by the creation of specialized subsidiaries such as LuxProvide and Clarence, focused on AI-powered solutions, as well as by stronger service integration with partners across our ecosystem through a more business-oriented approach. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, this article looks back at the story of our Data Centers – one of the company’s very first missions and a cornerstone of our story.
Here’s how our Data Centers have shaped our journey:
DC1.1 – Bettembourg
The story begins in 2008, with the first stone laid for our very first Data Center. In 2009, DC1.1 officially opened as the main gateway to our infrastructure. But growth came fast… so fast that we soon had to literally open up its façade to connect it to the next building.
DC1.2 – Bettembourg
By 2011, DC1.2 was up and running. More than just an extension, it became the administrative hub of our campus. From 2016 onwards, it fully took over as the main entrance to our Bettembourg Data Center infrastructures.
DC2 – Bissen
In 2012, LuxConnect reached a new milestone with DC2. Expanding beyond Bettembourg allowed us to offer true geographic redundancy, strengthening resilience and ensuring business continuity.
DC1.3 – Bettembourg
Launched in 2013 and inaugurated in 2016, DC1.3 was built with flexibility in mind. Only part of it was activated at first… a strategic choice that proved its value years later. In 2024, this forward-thinking design helped position LuxConnect as a key player in the IRIS² satellite constellation project.
What’s next?
With a new office building and a three-level Parkhouse breaking ground in 2026, the journey continues driven by the same ambition: anticipate, adapt, and build for the future.
From one building to a connected ecosystem, our Data Centers reflect 20 years of growth, agility, and vision.
