NTT COMMUNICATIONS CHOOSES LUXCONNECT TO EXPAND TIER-1 GLOBAL IP NETWORK TO LUXEMBOURG

London, UK and Bettembourg, Luxembourg – February 27th, 2014 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of Fortune Global 500 telecom leader NTT (NYSE: NTT), announced today that it has expanded its global IP network footprint with a new point-of-presence (PoP) in Luxembourg, one of the fastest-growing markets for Internet-related business in Europe. NTT Com will provide IPv4/IPv6 dual stack access via its extensive Tier-1 IP network not only to domestic providers of Internet services (ISPs) and content (ICPs), but also foreign companies providing Internet-related services in that market. NTT Com will deploy the new IP PoP at LuxConnect’s DC2, a 21,000m2,Tier IV facility located in Bissen, Luxembourg. The PoP will be ready for customer service by the end of March 2014.

Luxembourg occupies a highly strategic position in the middle of a consumer market of approximately 500 million people and this unique location enables low latency access to the most important European peering locations of Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, London. Luxembourg is fast emerging as a major European content magnet, a consequence of its very high quality data centers, a favourable corporate environment, and low latency fiber routes to the major European peering hubs.
