DataCenter services in Luxembourg

LuxConnect actively contributes to the strengthening of Luxembourg’s Data Center infrastructure by building and operating carrier-neutral Data Centers based on green energy concepts.

Two centers provide 4,200 m2 of net Data Center space near the city of Bettembourg, 13 km south of Luxembourg City. These Data Centers are designed to be “fault-tolerant”, commonly designated as Tier IV:

• The first center (DC 1.1) went live in June 2009
• The second (DC 1.2) in January 2011

LuxConnect is building a third center (DC 2) in Roost, 20 km north of Luxembourg City, planned to go into operation in Q1 2012.

The latest technologies were incorporated into each center at the design stage in order to maximize their energy efficiency. Advances in technology occurring in an infrastructure industry that is becoming increasingly Green IT-aware, has resulted in LuxConnect committing to a Power Usage Efficiency (PUE) rating that ranges from 1.6 to 1.35.

Compliance with these fault-tolerant design specifications and Green-IT technologies has boosted LuxConnect’s image. This in turn has contributed to LuxConnect becoming the partner of an increasing number of national and international hosting companies seeking hosting services in a neutral, highly secure and Green-IT environment.
